At Midwest Swimming Pools, we specialize in the construction of custom Gunite and fiberglass swimming pools throughout Michigan. As the warmer months approach, it’s essential to start preparing for the opening of your pool. Properly getting your pool ready not only enhances your swimming experience but also ensures the longevity of your investment.

To begin, it's important to remove any debris, such as leaves and dirt, that may have accumulated over the winter. Once the pool is clear, check the water level and refill it if necessary. Next, inspect your pool equipment, including filters and pumps, to ensure they

are in good working condition. It’s advisable to clean or replace filters and to run the pump for at least 24 hours to circulate the water. Afterward, test the water chemistry and balance the pH, alkalinity, and chlorine levels to create a safe swimming environment. Lastly, consider adding a shock treatment to eliminate any lingering bacteria or algae. Following these tips will help you enjoy a refreshing and safe swimming season in your beautiful Michigan pool.
